I hereby would like to express my interest in the position of teacher. Last weekend I learned about this interesting position and work environment and I am keen to find out about the career details and prospects. In this letter, I will briefly elaborate on my work experience and (academic) background. For the past 3 years, I have been working in the capacity of a higher education agent for a Sino-Australian company. I am primarily responsible for guiding my Chinese clients, often high school and university students, or young professionals, through the formal procedure for applying to academic programs abroad. This involves finding and approaching suitable research programs, assisting with correspondence with potential supervisors and admission committees, and preparing their official university applications and required documentation that needs to be submitted for the program of their choice. Alongside, and prior to this work (since 2016), I taught English in several schools and institutes all around China. I taught all age groups and a wide range of topics including IELTS, Business English, culture and traveling, and the more conventional courses for students from primary school to university level. I also possess considerable expertise on side responsibilities such as student counseling, curriculum design, career path guidance, Having sufficient teaching experience, I am positive that this position as a teacher is an outstanding opportunity for me to broaden my career path, and based on my professional experience and my affinity with higher education in China and abroad, I could be a strong asset to your team and make a meaningful contribution to the work. I am well-organized and see myself as a dedicated and cooperative individual that works proactively. I have strong communication skills and aside from English (bilingual since childhood), I reached the upper intermediate level of Chinese (HSK5), which will be of use when engaged with the work’s daily operations. As for my academic background, I have extensive study and research experience abroad and obtained my Master’s degrees at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where I majored in Contemporary Asian Studies and International Relations (I refer to my CV for additional details on my achievements). I possess my 120h-TEFL certificate.
