Xinxiang University, located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, is a full-time state-owned higher school approved by the Ministry of Education. Founded in 1949, the university was approved as a master’s degree granting project construction institution in Henan Province in 2019, a demonstrative applied technology university in Henan Province in 2021, a national language promotion base, a key master’s degree granting project training institution, and a joint master’s degree special enrollment plan in 2022.

The university adheres to the motto of “openness, inclusiveness, truth-seeking and innovation”, and explores the construction of high-quality applied talent cultivation mode. The campus covers an area of 1,375,333 square meters, and the school building area is nearly 860,000 square meters. The university has excellent operating conditions, teaching and scientific research equipment with a total value of about 554 million yuan. The library has a collection of 2.1 million paper books, more than 650,000 electronic books, 1,378 kinds of newspapers and periodicals, 22 various databases, and an advanced network service system.

The university focuses on training of applied talents to meet the economic and social development and the needs of students, and the eight core elements of the training of applied talents. The university is closely connected with the key links of the industrial chain and innovation chain, and scientifically sets up disciplines and specialties, with 24 colleges, 18 scientific research institutions, 68 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including engineering, science, management, economics, pedagogy, literature, art, history and medicine. There are 23 provincial and university-level key disciplines, 48 provincial and municipal key laboratories and engineering technology research centers, collaborative innovation and entrepreneurship centers, and provincial science and technology innovation teams. Professional construction is highly compatible with the needs of local industries and enterprises. There are more than 26,000 full-time students and 17,000 adult students.

The school pays more attention to international education cooperation and exchange, and selects teachers and students to the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and other countries for exchange or further study. It has cooperated with Belarusian National Technical University and Brest National Technical University, Bay Path University in the United States, and other foreign universities on biotechnology, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation to jointly cultivate high-quality applied talents with international educational background.
