The School of Management and Economics (SME) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) is seeking application for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all levels and lecturers on non-tenure track starting in Fall of 2022. The successful candidates for tenure-track position should be excellent in producing high profile scholarly research and delivering creative and effective teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The non-tenure-tracked lecturer is not subject to research evaluation but is required to deliver high quality teaching at all levels. The hired candidates are expected to do research and teaching in accounting areas.
CUHK-Shenzhen is established in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools upon approval of the Ministry of Education. It inherits the educational philosophy and academic systems of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is intended to evolve into a world class research university with strong Chinese cultural influence. JOB QUALIFICATION: Positions require PhD degree (granted when reporting duty) in Accounting, or related area. The candidates for tenure-track positions are required to demonstrate excellent research skills and the potential to publish to top-tier academic journals. Both tenure-tracked and non-tenure-tracked position are expected to deliver high quality teaching. The candidates can apply for position of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. The applicants for Associate Professor or above are expected to additionally demonstrate strong research record and leadership in the field.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidates for tenure-tracked develop their own research with the support provided by the university. They are subject to the tenure evaluation over a six-year period. The teaching is 3-hour workshop mode, which are normally delivered during the day time of working days. However, some courses for undergraduate or graduate may be delivered at evening time or weekends.
SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE: Salary will be competitive, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable to the PRC. The appointee will be based in Shenzhen, PRC.
