Let me start by expressing how very important my teaching career is to me. I believe that a life spent in the teaching sector will fulfil my personal goals. I want to make a difference in local communities, be a part of teaching people things that will stay with them their entire lives, experience other cultures, and make the best of my personal character traits and qualities. I have a kind and patient nature, a passion for teaching, and a strong desire to make a difference in the world. My interest in teaching began whilst working with children and the elderly as a volunteer with a charity radio station in my early teens. Since then, it has been a passion of mine to find new and original ways to teach in a fun and creative environment, to help people, and to make people smile. For example, in the UK, I worked in different primary schools with a performing arts agency, teaching young children about such subjects as the environment and other cultures via storytelling and short drama productions involving the children. I assisted them with performances, film production for promotional purposes, networking and fundraising, finding schools to work with, and arranging the schedules. I moved to Korea in August of 2011, and taught at private English academy, GnB, Unseo-dong, for two years. After teaching elementary and middle school students for these two years, I decided that I would challenge myself further, and so I accepted a one-year university teaching position at Jeju National University. There, I taught IELTS and TOEIC exam preparation classes during term time and intensive business English courses to employees of local companies during university’s vacation months.
